Bagni di Pisa

In 1743, during the “Grand Tour”, the Grand Duke of Tuscany Francesco Stefano di Lorena chose the spa area of the Aquae Pisanae, already famous among the Romans, as his home for the summer. The new establishment soon attracted the cream of European high society, attracting, among others, Gustavo of Sweden, George IV of England, Vittorio Alfieri, Percy B. and Mary Shelley, Ibrahim Pascià, the Cardinal of York and Carlo Goldon. Today a superfine resort, affiliated with “Leading Spa” and “The Leading Hotels of the World”, the “Bagni di Pisa” continues that illustrious tradition, with its constant noblesse.
