Golfin’ Apulia

Upon arrival in Bari, meet with our private driver and get transferred to the “Hotel Torre Maizza” in Fasano. Enjoy a  welcome cocktail and relax by the pool for the rest of the day, or explore this beautiful hotel which offers a nice driving range overlooking the sea, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, where you can practice swing and short game.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the San Domenico Golf Club, beautifully nestled between the last offshoots of the Itria Valley and the Adriatic, near the archaeological remains of Egnazia, a former Messapian and then Roman center. The 18-hole course, designed by architect Andy Haggar according to USGA requirements, boasts a circuit of over 6200 meters, with a par 72, and enhances the Mediterranean nature of the place. Before trying it, we recommend half an hour at the driving range. At the end of the course, lunch at leisure at the Club House and in the afternoon return to the hotel and relax with a decontracting massage. Enjoy dinner at leisure and rest for the evening.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart towards Martina Franca for a visit to its historic center, a baroque jewel of the Itria Valley, and enjoy a local tasting tour in an artisan cured meat factory, to appreciate the delicacies of the local butchery, especially the famous “capocollo”. Discover all the production processes in the pasta factory of the same family business, engaged in the recovery of the precious “Senatore Cappelli” durum wheat. Continue on to Alberobello, the city of  the”trulli”, dry stone buildings of prehistoric origin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, before returning to the hotel for a relaxing evening.

After breakfast at the hotel, meet with our driver and transfer to the Acaya Golf Club, one of the most prestigious in Italy, in the homonymous fortified village made of “Leccese” stone, a true jewel of Renaissance-Baroque architecture. This course has been created by the famous American studio Hurdzan & Fry, and, by sublimating the landscape of Salento, offers the player 18 holes along just under 6200 meters, with a par 71. An initial 30 minutes of driving range is recommended. Enjoy lunch at leisure at the Club House and in the afternoon return to the hotel in Fasano for a relaxing massage in the spa.

Have breakfast at the hotel, then meet with our driver and depart for the delightful town of Polignano a Mare, scenically perched on a high cliff, full of natural caves, where you have to try the local “special coffee”, enriched with sugar, lemon zest, cream and amaretto. Continue on in the direction of Bari, with a stop in an oil mill, where you will taste different varieties of oil and products stored with it after learning the processing techniques. Subsequently, enjoy a city tour of the Apulian capital, an important cultural and commercial hub between Italy and south-eastern Europe for centuries. Return to the hotel and unwind.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the San Domenico Golf Club to play this magnificent course. When you are finished, lunch at leisure at the Club House and in the afternoon return to the hotel and relax with a decontracting massage. Enjoy dinner at leisure and rest for the evening.

After a scrumptious breakfast, spend the morning at the elegant Beach Club of the hotel, and for lunch enjoy excellent dishes based on freshly caught fish in its beautiful restaurant. In the afternoon, you can choose to play for the last time before leaving Apulia in the paradise of the San Domenico Golf Club.
