The wide arc that the Italian peninsula outlines along its north-western coast, bathed by that portion of the Mediterranean known as the Ligurian Sea, holds some of the most enchanting territories of the whole “Bel Paese”. Here, between “Levante” Liguria and northern Tuscany, the reliefs of the interior extend as far as the coast, forming majestic, scenic rivieras, on whose sides are nestled romantic villages, similar to bonbonnieres, such as Portofino and the Cinque Terre. The region, with its strong historical-cultural homogeneity traceable back to the Roman age, boasts sumptuous artistic centers, above all Lucca and Pisa, and an excellent food and wine tradition. Sea, beauty, cuisine … the essence of Italy.
